Rimerez out of the Rays lineup

Designated hitter Manny Rimerez is getting pulled from the lineup and given a break for the start of the season.  He was pulled after having a 0 for 4 record with 3 strikeouts in the Ray's game against the Angels on Tuesday.  He's also missing tomorrow's game (Thursday) for a personal matter.

Joe Moddon says they made this move because Rimerez's plate is overloaded.  He is becoming a Hall of Famer shortly and is in the later years of his career.  Rimerez is a great player and is trying to do a lot at once.

Manny was boo-ed at Tuesday's games with his 3 strikeouts.  However, he said that it wasn't his first time to strike out 3 times and he is happy with himself regardless.  He stated with a smile, "I've got almost 600 homeruns," according to ESPN.com
